STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be good condition, with no apparent damage or loss of paint.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouching in the sky, particularly in the upper right. There is retouching in the foreground, lower left, particularly to the crest of the hill, and in the darker areas of the cliff face. There is a slightly discoloured and opaque varnish overall.
FRAME
Held in a carved and gilded wooden frame.
