Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in good condition. There is some minor damage to the pigment in the background on the right of the painting, and there are a small number of scattered very minor flecks of flaking, predominantly in the upper left and centre right. There is a thick and discoloured varnish overall.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals minor infilling to craquelure overall and confirms the opacity of the varnish.
FRAME
Held in an oval, gilded wooden frame.
