North Italian School, 18th century

Both canvases have been relined but this has not overly flattened their paint surfaces. Their paint surfaces are dirty and under an old varnish. No major damages are discernible. Proper inspection under UV light is impeded by the reflective varnish but this does reveal fairly extensive scattered retouchings and strengthenings leaving some flowers largely untouched. Offered in later velvet slip and wooden frames with some surface knocks, though structurally sound.
