Condition

The canvas has a fairly recent lining which has been applied sympathetically. The paint surface is atill in an excellent state of preservation, covered by a thin layer of dirt and patchy old varnish. There are only minimal retouchings, but to isolate the most obvious. there is a group above Daphnis's head and to its right, anda small group of pinpoint retouchings on his left wrist. Offered in a painted gold frame.
