Each pen and brown ink and watercolour, within black ink framing lines;
three indistinctly signed in pen and brown ink on the recto;
all signed in pen and grey ink, and one dated 1779, on the verso
Condition
Did not unframe as clearly legible. Condition seems excellent on all - paper strong, colours clear

Schmidt was a man of many accomplishments: a writer on art, a playwright, a designer of tapestries and a portrait painter. However, he was most successful as a landscape artist.
