Condition
The sheet is not laid down, it is hinged to a window mount at the top margin. Overall the condition is good and the medium remains strong. There is slight foxing that is barely visible and there are small stains around the outer edges of the sheet outside the brown ink framing lines.

Seven drawings by Van Nijmegen representing the story of Paris and Helen, all very similarly inscribed to this, are in the Rijksprentenkabinet, Amsterdam, and another comparable work was sold, London, Sotheby's, 27 June 1974, lot 182 (as Jacob de Wit, but subsequently attributed to Van Nijmegen by Janno van Tatenhove).
