Catalogue Note

Ercole was a nephew of Camillo and Giulio Cesare Procaccini and a pupil of the latter.  The present sheet, most probably a page from a sketchbook, shows his debt to Giulio Cesare's graphic style.  A good number of Ercole's drawings are in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, Milan.
