Catalogue Note
It is difficult to find an attribution for this very charming drawing, which seems most probably by a Bolognese artist of the late 16th century. There are various pentimenti, especially in the pose of the Christ Child. The studies on the verso are of a different subject: the arms are a more careful examination of the pose of the figure sketched in the corner, a standing nude holding a crown.
