  • A Collection of Portraits
  • including portraits of A Gentleman, Aged 45, in 1700; Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603); and two others  

     

  • One pen and black ink, heightened with brown wash; one watercolour over pencil, one watercolour over pencil, heightened with pen and brown ink; and one black and coloured chalk over pencil, two framed;
    variously signed and inscribed: one signed and inscribed in pen and black ink, lower centre: AE TATIS Luee. [sic] / XLV. / Den 14 December Ao 1700 / J. Faber fecit in London den 14 Decembr [sic] 1700, further later inscribed on the mount in pen and brown ink: The ABOVE BEAUTIFUL PEN DRAWING BY FABER WAS THE GIFT OF MY FRIEND / JOHN SHEEPSHANKS ESQUIRE, OF LONDON; one signed and inscribed in pen and brown ink, verso: H.R.H. Geo. Prince of Wales. / Modern Portraits No. 3 * / Robt. Laurie Delt.; and one inscribed in pen and brown ink, lower centre: Elisabela [sic] DG Angliae & Ch V Sichem fecit
