Catalogue Note

The Grey Parrot originates from West and Central Africa. The species has long been very popular as a cage bird, because it has more advanced vocal skills than other types of Parrot.

The artist exhibited pictures of living and dead animals at the Amsterdam Felix Meritis society in 1814, 1816 and 1818.
