Condition

Overall the condition is fairly good. There is some slight foxing visible in the skyline.There is a mark at the middle left margin which has probably been caused by glue from when the sheet was laid down.

Catalogue Note

There has been some speculation that the background and sky were added later by Aert Schouman.  It is known that Schouman had drawings by Holsteyn in his collection and the background of this sheet is certainly remininscent of some of Schouman's landscapes.
