Catalogue Note

Ozanne made a series of drawings of the Ports of France, which were engraved by his sister.  This project must have been inspired by Vernet's great series of painted views of ports, now in the Musée de la Marine, Paris.  Ozanne's print, like Vernet's painting, shows Antibes from a different position than the present drawing, looking down on the sweep of the harbour.
