Condition
Both canvases have been relined. Both paint surfaces are secure and generally in good condition although a touch thinned in some of the darker areas, most notably in the lower centre of the latter picture. Inspection under UV light reveals in the former some extensive scattered retouchings in the sky and lower right and some strengthening to the building and horizon upper left and in the latter a restored damage upper centre in the sky and some scattered retouchings throughout, most notably in the lower right corner.
Offered in matching gilt wood and plaster frames in good condition.
