The canvas has a modern relining, which has not overly flattened the paint surface. The paint surface is in largely good condition, though a little thin in the far right and left hand tulips, and dirty, with a fine craquelure running throughout. There are some old scattered losses to the paint surface in the lower left hand corner of the painting which have been retouched, a knock to the painting's upper left hand corner which has resulted in some minor paint loss, and a small old restored damage upper centre, but no major damages to the work are apparent. Inspection under UV light is impeded by the thick varnish covering the work but the flowers appear to be untouched. Offered in a gilt and painted wood frame in good condition though a little rubbed.
