Condition

The support consists of a single uncrdaled oak panel, which may have been cut on its right hand edge. There is an old vertical split running down the centre which as been reglued. The picture has recently been cleaned and restored and is in good condition overall, with no major damages or repairs in evidence. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals scattered retouchings, notably around the split and to the eyes and neck and throughout the flesh tones. The background appears to have been washed over and there are light retouchings around the head. This lot is offered in a later ebonised, faux tortoiseshell and ivory wood frame - check with EFURN
