Anonymous sale, Amsterdam, Paul Brandt, 15 May 1979, lot 54, as Peschier;
J. Oppenheimer, Sweden.
Condition
The actual painting is brighter and shows more detail than the catalogue illustration suggests. The canvas has got a rather stiff relining. A repaired damage is visible running along the upper edge. Furthermore the paint surface is in fair condition, albeit a bit thin in the background. Small scattered discoulered retouchings can be seen throughout, this is confirmed by UV light, but UV is mostly impeded by the thick varnish layer. Offered in a cabinet styl frame, a few chips. (ML)
