The canvas is unlined. There is an extension of approximately 12 cm. to the canvas along the upper margin. The canvas join is visible on the painting's surface. The paint surface is clean, secure and in good condition. No major damages to the work are apparent. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered spot retouchings to the back and hair of the woman, retouchings to the canvas join and to the shadowing on her leg and side. Offered in an ornate gilt wood and plaster frame in good condition with a few minor knocks.
