The canvas has an effective relining which has not overly flattened the paint surface which is under a glossy varnish. There are a handful of old damages, the largest of which is L shaped upper right of Peter's shoulder. Retouching work is evident in these areas and this is confirmed under UV light which also reveals some other minor scattered retouchings and strengthenings. Offered in a patterned gilt and black wooden frame in fair condition.
