Description
- The rape of Europa
- oil on canvas, unframed
Condition
The canvas has been relined.
The paint surface is in good condition, though dirty. The surface of the painting is rather uneven due to a number of old restored damages and tears, especially in the sky. The retouchings to these areas have become rather discoloured. Inspection under UV light confirms these retouchings and reveals a handful of futher scattered retouchings to the work.
Offered unframed.
