The actual painting is brighter than the catalogue illustration suggests. The canvas has a rather stiff relining. The paint surface is in good condition, but does have a tendency towards flaking in the lower left corner. Scattered retouchings, older and newer ones, can be seen e.g. in the women and sky, This is confirmed by UV light, although UV is also partly impeded by the varnish layer.
