Condition
The catalogue illustration is a little too red in tone. The canvas has an old re-lining which is still sound. The paint surface is now dirty and the heavy varnish layer discoloured. Overall the paint surface seems to be well preserved, with no major damages or repairs. There have been some incidental restoration to local details such as to and above the canopy of the booth and to the details of some of the figures, the boat and the foreground shadows.
This lot is offered with a modern gilt plaster frame in the French style with all of its corners damaged.
