Condition

STRUCTURE The canvas has been lined. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in good condition, with no apparent extant loss or damage. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light reveals one small are of retouching, lower left, and an uneven old varnish. There are no apparent signs of major restoration. FRAME Held in a carved and gilded British Baroque style frame.
