Condition

STRUCTURE The canvas has been lined. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in good condition. There is some minor abrasion and one very minor paint loss to the lower left edge die to frame abrasion. There are no further signs of extant damage or loss of paint. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouching overall, particularly to the outline of the dog, and infilling to craquelure in the lower section of the picture. FRAME Held in a gilded neo-classical style frame.
