Provenance
Between 1912 and 1947, the Viennese composer and pianist Otto Schulhof (1889-1958) collected the autographs of all the great violinists with whom he played. After Schulhof's death, the autographed sheet was offered at auction around 1960 and was bought by the composer and conductor Prof. Max Schönherr. After the death of Schönherr it was given by his widow to Prof. Robert Hanzlik, chairman of the Richard Wagner Association in Vienna, who had written a book about Prof. Schönherr. From Hanzlick it was purchased by the current owner, who added the photographs and the frame.
