Catalogue Note

First edition of Scarpa's anatomical masterpiece. The seven life-sized plates by Faustino Anderloni (1766-1847) after drawings by Scarpa show the human glossopharyngeal, vagus and hypoglossal nerves. Scarpa had trained Anderloni to realise his drawings as accurately and meticulously as possible (Heirs of Hippocrates 1105).
