Anno 1830 und wieder aufgefunden zu Paris 1839"), with deletions and alterations, with divergences from the text published in Salon IV (1840), including the second line and with deletions and revisions to the third line

Provenance
Heine wrote out this revised version of his poem for the family of the composer Ignaz Moscheles (1794-1870). The manuscript has come down to the present owners by direct descent: it has never hitherto been offered for sale.

This is an important poetic manuscript by Heine. It is an early version with considerable differences from the version published in the Sämtliche Schriften. It lacks the published title "Anno 1829" and does not contain the fourth verse published there (which had appeared in "Sehnsucht nach der Fremde" in 1831). The version in Salon IV, as here, lacks that added verse, but there are also other textual differences.
