Catalogue Note
A remarkable musical notebook, including sketches for the Fifth Symphony. While the composition date for this work is given in TNG as '1947-8', it would seem that Rubbra began the work earlier than has been suspected, to judge from the date on the second movement draft ("24/12/44").
