comprising: nine arias for alto from Semiramide, notated in brown ink on separate gatherings by a single scribe, on systems of varying length, with individual title-pages ("Aria in Contralto Del Sig.r Gio. Adolfo Hasse detto il Sassone Fatta per il teatro di Venezia nella Semiramide l'anno 1745 Poesia del Sigr. Abb.e Metastasio Poeta Cesareo..."), 172 pages, oblong 4to (2.5 x 29cm), 10-stave (Italian?)paper, number "597" in red crayon to upper left-hand corner of first page, the individual gatherings stitched together, no place or date, light dust-staining to outer leaves; and three arias for alto and one duet for soprano and alto from Antigono, notated in brown ink on separate gatherings, by the same scribe, on systems of varying length, with individual title-pages ("Aria in Contralto Del Sig.r Gio. Adolfo Hasse detto il Sassone Fatta per il Teatro di Dresda in Polonia l'anno 1745 Nell' Antigono Poesia del Sigr. Catalogue Note

The earlier of the two operas, Antigono was premiered in Saxony at the Hubertusburg, 10 October 1743, being later revised for performance in Naples in December of the following year. Semiramide was first performed in Naples on 4 November 1744, being revised for the Dresden court for performance in January 1744.
