Catalogue Note
A further remarkable manuscript linking Hasse with his great contemporary champion, the Leipzig composer and (from 1789) Thomaskirche Kantor Johann Adam Hiller (1728-1804). It would appear that Hiller has provided three works by Hasse (not identified here) with new German words, along the lines of his 1791 collection Meisterstücke des italiänischen Gesanges...mit deutschen geistlichen Texten.
