Catalogue Note
Autograph material by Pierre Baillot (1771-1842) is of the utmost rarity. Baillot writes here a virtuoso piece for solo violin, reminiscent of one of his great contemporary Paganini's celebrated caprices. The author was an important violinist and the writer of a famous treatise on the instrument. The work was composed for Romberg, another great contemporary violinist.
