Catalogue Note

This is a remarkable and substantial opera collection of some 45 numbered volumes, collected by the Duchesse in the 1820s, together with her original manuscript catalogue, listing the contents of all the volumes, including all the operas and the separate romances and arias.  The survival of such an ensemble, particularly one of very distinguished provenance, is most unusual.
