Catalogue Note
A collection of English-language books from Borges' library, most inscribed with his name. Norman Di Giovanni describes his acquisition of this collection: "It was a delight back in 1968, when I first arrived in Buenos Aires, to be taken under Borges' wing to meet all his friends and colleagues. Every so often he would load me up with unwanted books from his shelves. On one occasion it was a first edition of his best book, The Aleph, with a few annotations in his hand. But my favorite of all was the copy of Homer's Odyssey that his great aunt Caroline had given to him on his tenth birthday, in 1910, on the anniversary of Argentina's centenary".
