Catalogue Note

Borges described the poems collected in Luna de enfrente as "un verdadero derroche de color local" (a real outpouring of local colour) although, as with many of his early works, he also claimed "Es el libro que yo querrĂa omitir, pero mis editores no me dejan" (It is the book that I want to omit, but my editors will not let me) (AutobiografĂa, Buenos Aires, El Ateneo, 1999, p.83).
