2 works in one volume, first editions, folio (c.32 x 23cms), table of songs and privilege to both items, engraved music, ownership inscription of "Lydia Bates" on first title, contemporary calf-backed marbled boards, Walsh's advertisement of "Musick Compos'd by Mr Handel" bound at end,  [Smith no.1 (both editions)], worn with binding broken

Catalogue Note

Susanna and Solomon  were published within a few weeks of each other in 1749 and these fine crisp copies appear to have been bound together immediately, and were probably originally sold thus.
