Condition
Original canvas. The canvas is slightly loose in the stretcher.
There is a very faint stretcher bar mark along the bottom edge. The surface is dirty and may benefit from a light clean and there are some lines of craquelure, mainly to the red pigments. There is an old abrasion and some paint shrinkage in the upper right corner. There are strong areas of impasto.
Ultraviolet light reveals an area of fluorescence around the aforementioned abrasion, most likely in the artist's hand. There are other spots of fluorescence but these do not appear to be retouching.
Held in a stained and painted wood frame, which is the original artist's frame.
