Condition

The painting is in good condition, as is the canvas, which has been relined and is clear and taut. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a few spots of retouching on the face of the figure, a few minor spots on the upper middle and lower right (green background), the white area of the fan like sleeve, as well as on the white cloth flowing from the figure's head piece. These are visible only under UV light. There are some minor craquelures on areas with thicker paint but the layers are well-preserved and in stable condition. The colour of the actual painting is warmer and more pink-tinted in reality than in the catalogue illustration.
