The oval-shaped brooch designed as a jardinière, set with old European-cut, square-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 5.55 carats, the flowers composed of carved rubies, sapphires and emeralds, further set with cabochon and rectangular-shaped emeralds, and pear-shaped rubies, the reverse with an oval dial with Arabic numerals, manual movement, signed Ostertag, French assay mark, the central jardinière-form element hinged to reveal timepiece.

Condition

The colored stones are lively and bright, all are of medium tone, rubies are a pinkish-red. There are some abrasions to the emeralds and two are chipped. The diamonds are G-H color and predominantly VS-SI clarity. There are a few small chips to the enamel visible under magnification. One small single-cut diamond is missing near the base, not apparent when worn. Signature is worn but is legible and appears at the bottom of the reverse. The movement is signed Agisiz W(atch) Co. Swiss, 18-Eighteen Jewels, adjusted to temperature and 2-two positions, serial number 300016, case stamped with swill platinum stamp. Oval movement, the smallest, size 7½ by 5L, high grade ultra thin. Not working, it needs overhaul and reparing. Please see the important notice regarding watches on page 264 of the catalogue.
