Description

  • enamel, amethyst, diamond and lapis box
The enamel lid applied with a floral and foliate frieze of amethyst, lapis lazuli and rose diamonds, thumb piece accented with diamonds centring a cabochon green gemstone, opening to reveal a similar frieze in blue and red enamel, and a powder compartment with a mirror, mounted in gold, measurements approximately 45 x 36 x 12mm, French assay and British import marks for London, 1928.

Condition

Stamped with French assay marks and 18 for gold. British import marks for London,1928, maker's marks, numbered 73369 above mirror and 8320 on the two doors. Coloured gemstones well matched in colour, a few minor scratches and nicks. One small loss to one lapis leaf. Diamonds bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use and age, in good condition.
