Description
The front designed as six rows of natural pearls highlighted at the side with diamond links set with baguette, single- and circular-cut stones, the back composed of four rows of pearls, mounted in platinum, length of shortest row approximately 760mm, back detachable allowing sautoir to be worn at different lengths, French assay and maker's marks.
Provenance
By family tradition it is understood that this necklace was purchased at Van Cleef & Arpels Paris by the grandmother of the present owner, a close friend of the Arpel brothers and the owner of the building at 22 Place Vendôme, the address of Van Cleef & Arpels premises.
Condition
Stamped with French assay marks for platinum and 18 carat gold, maker's mark. The natural pearls of white to cream colour, some with light pinkish overtone, good luster, well matched. The diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 7.00 carats in total, generally G-I colour, VS-SI clarity. Minor scratches to metal consistent to age and wear. In good condition.
