Description
- fire opal, diamond, platinum
Comprising: a bracelet of open work foliate design set with cushion-shaped fire opals and rose and single-cut diamonds, length approximately 185mm; a pair of earrings set with cushion-shaped fire opals and circular-cut diamonds, clip fittings, French assay and maker's marks, one small diamond deficient; and a ring centring on a step-cut fire opal within a mount pierced and millegrain set with single-cut diamonds, size 51.
Condition
Bracelet and earrings stamped with French assay marks for 18 carat gold and platinum. Bracelet stamped with maker's mark MG with a fleur-de-lys, earrings with indistinct maker's marks. Opals bright orange colour, well matched, a few scratches and nicks, especially to bracelet and ring. One opal chipped on bracelet next to clasp and set up side down but not distracting when worn. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 10.00 - 12.00 carats, generally G-H colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in mounting. Clasp secure with two safety catches. Ring with sizing band. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches and minor tarnish consistent with use and age, in good condition.
