Description

Designed as a well with climbing plants set with cabochon rubies, emeralds and sapphires, set throughout with single and baguette diamonds, highlighted with onyx, the reverse mounted with a watch, the oval dial applied with blued steel hands and arabic numerals, watch crown deficient, French assay and maker's marks, numbered, signed Bourdier to watch face and to reverse.

Condition

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US, this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin is required before the import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information. Stamped with French assay marks for platinum and gold, maker's marks on pin and mounting. Signed Bourdier Paris on reverse and on dial, numbered 1181. Mechanical movement not in running condition at time of cataloguing, please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee future working condition of watches. Coloured stones well matched. Diamonds bright and lively. Black enamel with scratches and some losses. Segment of the cord deficient. Dial tarnished, winder and crown missing. Signs of wear to the metal and condition consistent with use and age, in good condition.
