Description
Platinum, sapphires and diamonds
Designed as a series of open work geometric plaques, each set with cabochon sapphires and circular- and single-cut diamonds, the arched connecting links set with baguette diamonds, length approximately 180mm, signed Ostertag, France, highly indistinct French assay and maker's marks.
Condition
Stamped Pt 950 for platinum. Signed Ostertag France to the side. Highly indistinct French assay and maker's marks. Medium blue sapphires with typical crystal inclusions, abrasion and scratches to most of the stones probably due to wear. Well matched. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 11.00 - 13.00 carats in total, H-I colour, VS-SI clarity on average. Clasp secure. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with age, very minor solder marks to the reverse. In good condition.

Arnold Ostertag was a Swiss born Jeweller working in Paris where he opened a successful establishment on the Place Vendôme during the 1920s and the 1930s. He was most famously known for his jewellery and objets d'art based on Indian designs, rivalling the most famous jewellers at that time.
