Catalogue Note

Au retour d'un voyage en Egypte, Syrie et Palestine, Chagall se consacre entièrement à l'illustration de la Bible pour une publication commandée par Vollard. L'artiste y travaille jusqu'en 1939 quand la mort de Vollard et le déclenchement de la guerre interrompent le projet. Il est repris après-guerre par Tériade qui publie un des plus importants livres d'artiste du XXe siècle.

Bel exemplaire en parfaite condition.
