Condition

Rubbing is visible to the extreme edges, particularly to the upper left corner and the lower right corner. This painting is unlined and well-stretched. A white drip-mark, potentially not inherent to the work, is visible in the upper right quadrant approximately four-inches from the top edge. Additionally, a half-inch drip mark and an area of rubbing are visible in the upper right quadrant approximately one-inch from the top edge. A light brown drip mark, potentially not inherent to the work, is present in the woman's upper left thigh. Overall, this work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Alone, like loneliness itself, Corzas´ naked women , all the more human when less defined, more real when less detailed, embody the eternal uneasiness of what Baudelaire called the flowers of evil.
