Description
- onyx, diamond and gold
Designed as a bird in flight with a carved sapphire body, onyx eye and beak, the body and wings millegrain-set with circular-, single-cut and rose diamonds, French import marks, case.
Condition
Stamped with French import mark for gold. Central sapphire medium slightly greyish blue, translucent with typical inclusions visible to naked eye and under magnification, surface carved with floral and foliate motifs. Diamonds bright and lively. Safety catch to clasp secure, pin a little bent. Slight scratches to mount consistent with age and wear. Case by Carrington & Co Ltd. later relined to fit brooch. In good condition.
