Description
- aquamarine, topaz, gold
Comprising: a brooch centring on a step-cut aquamarine within a pierced and chased surround of acanthus leaves and foliate borders, highlighted with circular-cut diamonds, aquamarines and topaz, supporting aquamarine and topaz drops; and a pair of earrings of similar design, screw back fittings, fitted case.
Condition
Composite jewel. Accompanied by original hook fittings that had been detached from earrings.
Brooch: Aquamarine light slightly greenish blue, typical inclusions visible under magnification, needles. Topaz light slightly violetish pink. Diamonds bright and lively. Gold bright, slightly tarnished consistent with time. Safety catch to pin. In good condition.
Earrings: Aquamarine light slightly greenish blue, well matched. Topaz light slightly violetish pink, different saturations. Diamonds bright and lively. Gold bright, slightly tarnished consistent with time. Screw back fittings. In good condition. Case later relined.
