Description

  • diamond, pearl, platinum
Each suspending on a drop-shaped natural pearl measuring approximately 13.09 x 10.70 x 10.60mm and 12.45 x 11.05 x 10.65mm respectively, surmounted by a semi-flexible link set with brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds altogether weighing approximately 1.80 carats, mounted in platinum.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to GIA report, both pearl drops are natural saltwater pearls, with no indication of treatment. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, both pearls are of matching drop shape and white colour, one with slightly more rosè overtone, good lustre with minor surface blemishes which are not noticeable unless close inspection. Diamonds in the surmount are about F to H colours, mostly VS clarity with just a few stones in SI. Condition: Platinum earring mounts, in good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by GIA report numbered 2125667793, dated 8 October 2010, stating that the pearls are natural saltwater pearls, with no indication of treatment.
