the openwork sides of oval section cast with the four directional animals, set on a rectangular stepped base supported on four small crouching human figures, the openwork base of crossed bars with a peg in the center underneath, one end set with a curved handle with spade-shaped terminal, the dark surface lightly encrusted with green and reddish brown patination
