Condition

The canvas is lined. There is a layer of varnish which does not allow the UV light to fully penetrate, but there is evidence of a thin line of retouching in the upper left quadrant and a few other scattered spots of retouching, mostly in the water. Overall this work is in generally good condition. Colours: Fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, although there is more contrast in the original.
