Condition

Executed on buff wove paper, not laid down, attached to the mount along the upper and lower edges and at the centre of the right and left edges. There is a horizontal hairline hard crease, possibly a slight break, below the sitter's right arm and a further hard crease towards the upper centre of the right edge. The sheet is time stained overall. This work is overall in good condition. Colours: Fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, although the paper tone is brighter and less red in the original.
